Joseph Torres, MD

is originally from Dallas Texas and completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S in Exercise Science and minor in Biology. He then went on to complete medical school at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Following medical school, he stayed in San Antonio to complete a four-year residency in anesthesiology. After residency, he left the Lonestar state to complete his fellowship in pain management at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Dr. Torres is a strong proponent of individualized patient care to develop treatment plans so patients can reach their unique functional goals. To effectively treat pain conditions it takes the integration of several components such as improving exercise capacity with PT, optimizing medication management, therapeutic and diagnostic injections, and other advanced procedures. Dr. Torres is an advocate of patient education to empower his patients to take an active role in their care.  

Raised speaking both English and Spanish, he is able to provide exceptional care to an even more broad patient population. In his free time, Dr. Torres enjoys running, fly fishing, hiking, overlanding/camping with his wife, and cheering on the Longhorns.
